Ida B Wells-Barnett( July 16 1862-March 25 1931) Ida B Wells was a journalist, suffragette, civil rights leader and co founder of the NAACP. Among her many accomplishments Wells was probably most known for her work as investigative journalist who brought light to the lynching epidemic in the south. She waged an anti lynching campaign which led to threats on her life in Memphis. She moved to Chicago where she worked on urban reform until her death in 1931. Wells tireless work helped bring light to an ugly part of history. She truly is an American Hero
